Pete’s PC & Apple Repair offers remote service that allows us to take over your desktop and solve some software issues without leaving the comfort of your home or office. If after contacting us by phone or email, describing your issue, we determine there is a good probability we can solve or examine your problem remotely, we will set up a time and give step by step instructions to connect to your pc or mac remotely. Some software, hardware, or networking issues will be better resolved at our office or onsite at your home or office. The remote service charge will be $50/hr with a half hour minimum non refundable. Fee is payable in advance by credit card before service begins.
Pete’s PC & Apple Repair uses Crossloop, a free and easy-to-use software application for desktop sharing designed for people of all technical skill levels. With Crossloop, I can help my customers remotely as if I was working side by their side. Crossloop is powered by the proprietary Crossloop VIP Tunnel, a secure peer to peer data transmission system. It encrypts all files and messages exchanged on their network to ensure user privacy. Only you and your invited technician can view or share control of your computer. A crossloop session can only begin on your computer by inviting someone to begin a session. All data sent over the Crossloop network is encrypted at the endpoints using a 128 bit blowfish encryption.
Crossloop remote for PC requires Windows 2000 or newer, including Vista, 128 mb ram or greater, 2 mb hard drive space and a broadband connection. Crossloop remote for Mac requires CrossLoop OSX 10.4 (Tiger) or later, an Intel processor, 20MB disk space and 500MB of RAM. CrossLoop will not work on a PowerPC Mac. See below for more specific installation instructions for installing Crossloop on a PC or on a Mac.
